Vineyard

The estate cultivates historical areas of high quality in the district of Pfeddersheim where vines have been cultivated since the Roman late antiquity: The single areas are Sankt Georgenberg, Hochberg and Kreuzblick.

It is the family who takes care of the vineyards. Being next to the vines is a matter near to the heart of the Pfannebeckers. Max Pfannebecker is convinced that a wine cannot be better than the grape from which it is pressed. In order to obtain aromatic wines in the cellar, delicate and tasty grapes have to be harvested with a fine feeling.

The wine year starts in January with the cutting of the vines which is done by hand. On this occasion each vine is individually examined and taken care of.

Starting with the sprouting of the vines in spring then followed by the maintenance of healthy leaves until the harvest and grape selection in autumn: The work in the vineyard is carried out in accordance with the guidelines of ecological viticulture.
